Brandin Cooks’ speed, talent could give Patriots a Randy Moss-like threat
Both literally and figuratively, Patriots wide receiver Brandin Cooks will make defenses blow their tops this season. He is the Pats’ new-era Randy Moss. No, Cooks and Moss aren’t of the same physical ilk, but they both use the same jet fuel. Cooks should be Tom Brady’s most threatening deep-ball artist in a decade, though the 23-year-old burner wasn’t comfortable with the Moss comparison. “He is a different breed,” Cooks said of the 6-foot-4 future Hall of Famer. “When I say that, I mean, he’s over 6-feet with speed, and I’m 5-foot-9 with some speed.” Physical status aside, Cooks and Moss do share enough of the same tools to draw the parallel.
